Day 1 & 2 (July 7-8)

Lectures and CPR

Community Lectures provided by the Department of Health - Regional Health Office I. Resource speakers were Francisco Sobrevilla De Vera Jr., Nurse V, Marites Taguiam, Administrative Officer V. 

The Philippine Red Cross - San Fernando City Chapter provided lectures on Basic Life Support/Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Preparedness. Return Demonstration done by participants.

Day 3 (July 9) Circumcision & Dental Mission

Free Circumscision provided to boys aged

5 to 12 by the Men and Women of Alpha Phi Omega, Alpha Phi Chapter, UERM College of Medicine. This service-oriented fraternity and sorrority had been our partner for the past 21 years.

This year saw the collaboration between MMLM and the La Union Dental Association (LUDA). LUDA is headed by Dr. Mary Rose Badar. Special Mention goes to Dr. Annidel Corpuz who brokered this year's collaboration and was also responsible for inviting the resident-dentists of the Philippine Coast Guard

The recipient of the 2016 Jesus E. Maglaya Jr. Exemplary Citizen Award is

Mr. Rodrigo G. Ducusin for his contribution in the Field of Agriculture.

The recipient of the 2016 Ma. Dolores B. Maglaya Teacher of the Year Award is

Mrs. Neli M. Pipo for her more than 40 years of tireless service to Caba Elementary School. She exemplified the true attributes of a mentor.

The recipient of the 2016 Jennifer Feril Braveheart Award is Alpha Phi Omega, Alpha Phi Chapter, UERM College of Medicine for furthering Leadership, Friendship and Service in the Community and Academe.

Day 4 (July 11) Walkathon

Jennifer Feril Braveheart Walkathon for Breast Cancer Awareness was well-received by the community. Around 100 people participated in the Walkathon.

Jennifer Feril is a Registered Nurse by Profession and is a Board Director of MMLM. She was Diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2013 and is now Cancer-free. She devotes her time in providing community lectures on Breast Cancer Awareness and moral support to breast cancer patients.

 

Jennifer Feril is our Modern Hero.

Over 500 adult and pediatric consults done. Specialty Clinics were also conducted such as:

1. Cardiology- 230 ECG and Official readings done.

2. Minor Head and Neck Surgery Including simple cyst excision.

3. Simple Dermatology Procedures done including Electrocautery. 

Screening and Laboratory tests were also given for free.

3. Urine Dipstick

The Pharmaceutical Service provided exceptional service in free medication dispensing and teaching.
