Community-based in-service pharmacy training on drug inventory, stocking and dispensing.

Clinical training on laboratory skills and procedures.

May 24, 2018

The medical missions kicked of at dawn of May 24, 2018 by prayer devotion and paying respects to the early founders of MMLM. The following consultations started:

General
Medical
Dental
Ob-gyn

Circumcision also started that day.

For the very first time, a community screening on women's health in the form of VIA (visual inspection through acetic acid technique) was conducted. MMLM proves true to its promise in conducting a holistic approach in the delivery of services in the community.

May 25, 2018

Continuation of MODELS consultations and the start of health and wellness lectures were conducted.

Dental consults totaled to 500 visits which includes restoration, preventative dentistry and extraction. The Department of Health and La Union Dental Society were in full attendance that day.

May 26, 2018

General, Medical and Pediatric Consults and

Apple a day program also started. Apples were distributed to the patients.

The night was capped off with a fellowship gathering for all MMLM volunteers. Volunteer doctors from the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center (UERMMMC), Alpha Phi Omega and the Department of ENT from the Ilocos Training and Medical Center were in attendance.

May 27, 2018

Circumcision, OB-GYN consults and ultrasound of 55 expectant mothers. Thanks to the able bodied and very reliable Dr. Vera Cruz. Two high risk term patients were referred to the ITRMC because of pregnancy-induced hypertension.

May 28, 2018

MMLM conducted its first scientific forum at Sol Arena Beach Resort in Caba La Union.

Topics included:

End of Life Care
Caring for patients with dementia in the community setting
Basic Skin Care in the community setting
Highlights of the MMLM projects and future endeavors in community organizing.

Volunteer appreciation night took place in the evening at the Arubayan ni Ysabel Restaurant.

Community Heroes were recognized as follows:

2. Mrs. Adoracion Runes - Maria Dolores Teacher of the Year Awardee

3. Diovy Picaña, RN, BSN - 2018 Volunteer of the Year Awardee

4. Esther M. Delfin - 2018 Volunteer of the Year Awardee

5. Cymond Thom Estallila - 2018 Youth Volunteer of the Year Awardee

6. Trisha Joy N. Mauricio - 2018 Youth Volunteer of the Year Awardee

The MMLM youth choir was formally introduced. Incidentally, these 28 youth volunteers are also scholars through the Cael Alday, PT, MD Scholarship fund.

ENT -Ear Wax Extraction and Minor Surgeries of the Head and Neck conducted by Dr. Gerry Tolentino, Medical Training Officer of ITRMC and Dr. Jehan Grace Maglaya, La Union Medical Center (LUMC) Consultant
Community Teaching on Personal Care, sustainable ECO Program on Mushroom Culture, Good nutrition conducted by the National Nutrition Council and Mr. Chester Acosta
Legal conducted by Atty. Fabian M. Bautista II
Cardiology and ECG Clinic conducted by Dr. Minda Siasoco
Dermatology conducted by Dr. Isabelita Trykowski, Consultant for CALEE Technologies and Dr. Judy Nieto
Neurology conducted by Dr. Jo Ann Soliven. A family of four afflicted with familial muscular dystrophy was referred to a medical center in Manila co sponsored by MMLM
Massage Therapy and Wellness were conducted on numerous patients.
