MMLM Family Tradition

Christmas, as a song line goes, is the “most wonderful time of the year.” This famous line may be taken to mean differently from what you and I may have in mind. But to MMLM Volunteers, Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year because it reminds us of God’s great love and sacrifice for mankind. His birth in that manger and His death on the Cross of Calvary, has given humankind a chance at eternal life.

The year 2016 came and went by with a bang! Not only did MMLM Volunteers break barriers by spearheading the first ever Nurse-led, wellness and mobile clinic, but they also came together as a group to promote “Building Partnerships through Volunteerism” by hosting the First Lantern/Parol-Making Contest in Barangay Sobredillo, Caba, La Union. The wisdom of this contest as initially being open only to MMLM members and their families is to test the waters, so to speak. MMLM volunteers hope to self-reflect as a group and whatever learned lessons this activity may bring will propel us to reach out and open this contest to the entire townspeople of Caba come December 2017.

Also this year, MMLM established a Children’s Educational fund for our community. Parallel to our vision of bringing excellent and quality healthcare and fair legal assistance to communities, MMLM is in the forefront to support local educational programs through scholarships and mentorship. The MMLM YOUTH CHOIR is the new face of the Children’s Educational Fund. It is our honor to commission Dr. Elva Lois Maglaya-Orlanda as our in-house Conductor and Mentor. As of this writing, the MMLM Choir goes around Caba during this festive Yuletide Season to bring cheer and Christmas carols to your households. Your generous donation to this cause is most appreciated.

We have so much to be thankful for in 2016. Good health, kind hearts, stronger partnerships, best carols, brightest stars/parol. That’s the MMLM Family tradition.
