Mother's Day

Please take the time to read this article and I feel so proud of my mother for being featured in the Philippine Inquirer.

We came here to America not having a lot and we had to build our life from scratch but I am here to tell you that there was not a day that I felt deprived.

My mother made sure we had everything we needed; She put us through college all by herself. She gave us a nice home and until this day she still works so hard to help us succeed in life.

Mom, I know that you always tell everyone how proud you are of my accomplishments but I want you to know that a big factor of my motivation to succeed is my appreciation for all your sacrifices for our family.

People always ask me, “Why are you so hard on yourself?” and most people might think I’m spreading myself too thin with everything that I’m doing – but I don’t think my temporary fears and stress will amount to how hard my mom worked for our future.

Whenever my anxiety strikes, I console myself with the thought that ... If my mother can still work long hours even when she was going through chemo, or times when she only gets 3 hours of sleep in a day, I don’t really have an excuse.

I never share a lot of my personal life but I want everyone to know how extremely grateful I am that we come so far here in the US, all thanks to her.

I love you, Mommy, you’re the most amazing mother in the world.
